Nissan revamps world's first electric camper van with pop-and-play kit

Imagen
With a new generation of all-electric vans, like the Ford E-Transit, Volkswagen ID. Buzz and Mercedes EQV, taking root in the e-camper van market, Nissan's electric small vans have gotten lost in the background. But the e-NV200 was the world's first electric camper van at a time when EVs in general were still in their infancy and most RVers were quite content with gas and diesel. Nissan retired the e-NV in 2021 to make room for its successor, the Townstar EV. The wagon-like Townstar EV Kombi doesn't have quite the tiny van flair of the e-NV200, in our opinion, but it still makes a compelling little mini-camper when topped with a high-popping rooftop tent and loaded with a tailgate kitchen. Ford's adorable new Nugget PHEV camper van gets the jump on Volkswagen

Imagen
It's about time. The plug-in hybrid camper van wars are slowly warming up. The Ford Transit Custom has been available as a PHEV camper from third-party manufacturers like Dethleffs and Wellhouse Leisure for several years, but not from Ford itself. That changes with the next-generation Transit Custom Nugget camper van that has debuted at the 2023 Düsseldorf Caravan Salon. The new camper van gets a few key updates around its smart multi-zone floor plan and will come with several powertrain options, including the PHEV that gives the Transit Custom van itself up to 35 miles (56 km) of electric range per charge. That's a little more than its soon-to-be competitor over at Volkswagen, and unlike the concept Multivan California, the new Nugget goes up for order this month. Habiton micro-camper drives tiny, blows up at camp with inflating roof

Imagen
Over the years, we've come to know Bürstner best for midsize RV offerings like Class C motorhomes, Class Bs based on full-size vans, and large (but not huge) caravans. With its more recent Copa mini-camper van (and 4x4 version), the company started following the trend toward smaller, more versatile camping MPVs. It presses onward at this year's Düsseldorf Caravan Salon under the banner "Travel Small, Live Large." The Habiton concept absolutely exemplifies the tagline, hitting highways as a small, efficient Renault Kangoo with low-profile roof before auto-inflating into a family base camp at the zap of a remote control.
